On the phone to someone with a website inquiry.
Client: I have this idea for a website, and I’m looking for someone to design it for me.
Me: That’s great! What kind of website is it?
Client: I don’t want to tell you.
Client: There was that song off the TV. That was nice. We’ll go with that.
Me: Um, I’m pretty sure that will be copyrighted. I don’t think we’ll be able to use it.
Client: Just Google it!
Me: No, I don’t think you understand. It’s probably copyrighted content. You’d have to pay the owners if you wanted to use it.
Client: Now listen here! Just find it on Google!
Me: Well… what’s the name of the song?
Client: Oh I don’t know. Google will tell you that!
How Much Water Does it Take to Make Your Food?
Today is World Water Day.
The UN has a site about water and food security issues here.
Image: 142 liters of water are needed to produce the 8 tomatoes, 1.5 slices of bread and portion of butter to make this meal. Via the UN World Water Day Flickr account.

“The other photographer had been staring at the woods for a while when this rather large deer appeared out of nowhere and tiptoed past him. I was laughing so much it was quite hard to take the picture.” — Hans Kruse
I received an email from a potential client. My name is Jose. I live in California.
Client: I am interested in one of your illustrations. I have a budget of $30 U.S.D.
Me: I am truly sorry sir, but that budget isn’t adequate for my illustration services.
Client: I don’t think you…
Client: I told you I had to have that sign up yesterday. What’s your excuse?
Me: We installed it yesterday morning.
Client: Don’t lie to me. I just looked on Google Maps and even if that stupid tree is in the way, I can clearly see that the sign hasn’t been changed.
Hmm,
Nearly 20 percent of the more than 2 million troops who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan have been left with mental health conditions…
I’d say they had mental problems in the first place to go there…
